Privacy Policy

What this site receives, why it receives it, and what happens to it afterwards.

This policy explains what information ClusterView Manual receives when you read the site or send a message, why it is received, and what happens to it afterward. The publication is a static documentation site, so the amount of information involved is small by design.

Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to clusterviewmanual.org and to the pages published under that domain. It does not apply to any software interface described on the site, to any third-party site, or to correspondence conducted outside the channels listed here. References to ATAS and other product names are descriptive; this publication does not operate those products and does not control their data practices.

Information You Provide

The only place the site invites input is the contact form. That form asks for a full name, an email address, an optional organization, a subject, a message, and a consent confirmation. The information is used to review and answer the message. It is not used for advertising, not sold, and not combined with data from other sources.

If you write to the editorial email address instead, the message contains whatever you choose to include. Please do not send sensitive personal information or credentials; the desk does not need them and cannot protect them beyond ordinary email practice.

Information Collected Automatically

The site does not run analytics, advertising scripts, or tracking pixels. It does not set cookies for ordinary reading. The hosting environment may record standard request information such as an IP address, a timestamp, a requested path, and a browser identifier in server logs. Those logs are used for security and availability, are retained for a short operational period, and are not used to build reader profiles.

Because the site is static, there is no application database behind it. Pages are files, and reading a page does not create a record beyond the server log entry that any web server produces.

Why Information Is Processed

Correspondence is processed to answer the message and, where the message reports a documentation error, to verify and correct the page. This is a legitimate editorial interest: a technical reference cannot remain accurate without a channel for corrections. Consent is requested in the form for the specific purpose of reviewing and answering the message, and it is not bundled with any other purpose.

Server logs are processed for security and capacity planning. They are not used to infer interests, to personalize content, or to measure campaigns. There are no campaigns to measure.

Retention

Correspondence is retained for as long as it remains useful for editorial follow-up, typically no more than twenty-four months after the last message. Messages that result in a published correction may be retained longer so that the correction can be traced to its source. Server logs are retained for a shorter operational window, usually measured in days or weeks.

When retention ends, correspondence is deleted. Because the site keeps no reader file, there is nothing to delete separately.

Sharing

Information is not sold and is not shared for advertising. It may be handled by service providers that support email delivery or hosting, strictly for those functions and under confidentiality obligations. It may be disclosed when required by law, or when necessary to protect the rights and safety of the publication or of a correspondent. No other sharing occurs.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the information you provided, to ask for correction, to ask for deletion, or to object to certain processing. California residents have specific rights under state privacy law, including the right to know what is collected and the right to request deletion, and the publication does not discriminate against anyone who exercises those rights.

To make a request, write to contact@clusterviewmanual.org with the subject line "Privacy request." Include enough detail to identify the correspondence you are asking about. A response is usually sent within thirty days.

Security

The site is served over encrypted connections and contains no application layer that could be exploited to reach reader data. Correspondence is stored in the editorial mailbox and in ordinary office systems. No system is perfectly secure, and the publication does not claim otherwise; the practical protection is that very little information is collected in the first place.

Children

The site is written for professional readers and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has sent correspondence, write to the editorial address and the message will be removed.

Changes to This Policy

If the policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be described in a short note at the top of the page. Because there is no mailing list, the page itself is the notice.
